Lisa Z. Wellman
Principal


Lisa Wellman’s 25 year career in technology has spanned positions from systems development to business development and marketing to executive management. She has held executive level positions in Fortune 100 companies and headed venture funded entrepreneurial initiatives. She has led teams in system development, graphic arts, strategic marketing as well as horizontal worldwide marketing. In all positions she has translated technology into value propositions in the language of the customer.

Wellman moved from mainframe systems development to the PC/desktop market in 1984.

She was recruited by Apple in 1991 to head up Commercial Publishing markets for the U.S. Her success led to a promotion as vice president of worldwide Publishing, Entertainment and New Media Markets, that she built into a $3 billion revenue stream that accounted for 60% of Apple’s bottom line.

Wellman served as CEO of two companies. DeepCanyon, a Hewlett Packard spin-off, sold strategic research for high-tech marketers over the internet running under a Unix OS. CampusCE, is an Application Service Provider (ASP) operating in an SQL environment, selling infrastructure support tools for continuing education institutions and businesses. A recent project involved a turn around at a Seattle advertising agency.

She is a frequent speaker at international industry events, Wellman has served on the Advisory Boards of Cal Poly and the American Film Institute. She recently addressed CalPoly as a participant in the Distinguished Scholar Series, speaking on Communication in the next 50 Years. She is an alumna of Leadership America and Vice Chair of Washington Community Alliance for Self Help (CASH), a micro-lending organization.

Lisa was recently appointed by Governor Christine Gregoire to the state Community Ecenomic Revitalization Board for a 3 year term.

Terry Wellman
Principal


Terry Wellman, Gestalt Technologist in Residence, has had a 25 year career in computer technology, serving as the VP of Marketing & Sales and in Executive Management positions at companies involved with main frame, mini, microprocessor and high quality image processing equipment.

He has held the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing for GEC, plc., Optronics, an Intergraph Division, and for the last 12 years has served as President of Market Presence LLC. In these assignments he has been responsible for worldwide Communications, Marketing, Product Management, Special Events and International Sales.

Terry has managed many innovative hardware and software solutions, utilizing Unix, Microsoft, and Apple Operating Systems and applications. His product designs include M-Path, a graphical user interface that tracked user behavioral patterns. He brought The Knowledge Worker series of workstations to market and designed and drove the development of InPrint, a turnkey page layout, draw and paint system for desktop publishing.

In 1991, he founded Market Presence, LLC, a High-tech Consultancy with clients in the Fortune 500, as well as Internet based B to B and B to C companies.

Kathleen Kaiser
Principal, Indigo Women
A Digital Marketing Affiliate


Beginning as a teenage publicist handling press conferences for the Beatles and Rolling Stones, Kathleen Kaiser has a long career history in marketing communications, focusing her talents as a producer on seminars, special events and trade shows the last twenty years. She established Indigo Woman, Inc (IWI), in 1993 as a trade show marketing and production firm focused on emerging technologies.

IWI created and implemented marketing projects for various clients including: launch of new product line (Time Warner Interactive); launch of new trade show (Documation); launch of international trade show (CES Mexico): launch of new consumer events (MTV Intersection and ESPN Sports Show International); creation of value-added pavilions to trade shows (Graph Expo, American Heart Association & California Restaurant Association); repositioning of trade publications (I/O Magazine & Big Picture); extensive market research (VNU Expos, NPES, GASC, PhotoEast); sponsorship and exhibit sales for Xplor International; creation and production of e-learning Success Awards for Advanstar Communications; and, all sales and marketing of the Convention Program for the Democratic National Committee. Created concept, designed look and sold all sponsorships for intheDigitalWorkflow.com, a graphic arts website launched April, 2000.

Indigo Woman began its relationship with HD EXPO in the summer of 2005, marking Kathleen’s return to working on an advanced technology event after a two-year hiatus. Starting with sponsorship sales, she quickly grew the November HD EXPO 2005 into the largest to date. Throughout 2006 she continued to bring in the leading HD camera manufacturers, storage companies and related digital technologies through exhibits, sponsorships, workshop participation, ending the year with $1,000,000 in sales, each of the three expos growing 30% plus in size and number of attendees.

Kathleen was Director of Expositions for Seybold Seminars, from 1988 to 1993. She grew Seybold Seminars Fall (under 40,000 net square feet (nsf)) and a hotel conference with a small demonstration area (Seybold Seminars) and developed them into the leading computer publishing events in North America with respective nsf of 125,000 and 60,000 in 1993. The driving force behind the successful creation of two additional events, Digital World, launched in 1990, the first conference and show focused on the convergence of computers, publishing, entertainment and the internet, and Windows Solutions, launched in 1993.

Prior experience includes over 15 years in corporate marketing, event management and public relations.

Kathleen is recognized by her peers as a leader in such trade associations as the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO) and the International Association of Exposition Management (IAEM). She is past Chairperson of the Southwestern Chapter of IAEM and was responsible for the reunification of Southern California, Las Vegas and Arizona as one chapter. She is current Past President of the Ojai Shakespeare Festival, handles all marketing for the prestigious Ojai Studio Artists and volunteers with various Youth Arts Programs in Ventura County.
