We've seen the future and it's you on TV
3 Apr 2004
We've talked a lot about a future where people use real-time TV as the major form of human communication. We envision ubiquitous TV taking market share from every form of printed media as well as the broadcast TV networks, the US Postal service, FEDEX and a host of other communication services and media. This movement will shake all forms of media to their core and leave them changed forever. Why? Two words - cheap and easy; just point and shoot. These dynamite market factors - that characterize mass market acceptance for many of todays products - will be delivered over the next few years. Want proof? Later in 2004 Phillips will launch it's new Key Chain 019. It is a Camcorder, takes still photographs, records MP3 music plus storage all on a Key Chain sized device. Ubiquitous computing anyone? It's small. Tiny, in fact. It might not be available yet but it will be shortly. PC Magazine got a hold of one of the first preview units, and they have all the details on this tiny, amazing gadget from Philips. Views from Lisa Wellman & Terry Wellman
