Homo Digerati
1 Jun 2006
Far Out? Too much Science Fiction? Perhaps... but Homo Digerati have begun to evolve. Digital Man, the successor to Homo sapiens. Part DNA extensions and part nano circuitry, Superior in nearly every way to the preceding species. They will be Self-powered, shaped by self-selected genetic characteristics, Stronger, Faster, magnitudes more brain power, self-healing, and en rapport with all other Species individuals with a memory composed of all recorded information held in digital form. Within 100 years of its appearance Homo Digerati became the dominant global species. It was recorded that Homo sapiens went quietly, willingly bowing before their own creation, acknowledging the superiority of their offspring. Bill Joy of Sun Micro Systems is only partly correct in suggesting that computers will replace Homo sapiens. We will merge and use the best and most successful characteristics of both genetic extensions and digital processing. Those of us alive and born into 2000 A.D. are, in fact, the last Homo sapiens to walk the face of the earth.
